Consultants – The Founder
Harry C. Boghigian, the founder of Pharma Consultants, has a
long and impressive career in the pharmaceutical industry. He
was awarded the Hoffmann-LaRoche President’s Achievement
Award four times for his outstanding performance and achievements.
He is listed in a number of prestigious publications and currently
serves as a consultant for the University of New Hampshire Whittemore
School of Business Holloway Business Plan Competition.
His experience began as a pharmaceutical sales representative
in New England where he called on physicians, hospitals, medical
centers, pharmacies and clinical laboratories. His selling experience
included not only prescription products but also interactive educational
training programs, clinical laboratory services and physician
problem oriented medical record systems.
His career continued to enjoy many accomplishments that led to
numerous promotions within the organization. He developed extensive
marketing experience domestically and internationally, as a Manger
of Market Research, Product Director, Group Director and ultimately
as a Director Global Business. He was responsible for developing
and coordinating global product strategic plans for new products
with the six key country markets-United States, Germany, Italy,
United Kingdom, Japan and France.
His expertise in co-promotion arrangements includes the industry’s
first successful co-promotion arrangement with Glaxo’s (now
Glaxo Smith Kline) highly successful product Zantac. His success
in co-promotion arrangements, new product development and global
marketing across numerous therapeutic areas contributed to his
record of successes.
He was appointed General Manager and Senior Vice President of
the Hoffmann-LaRoche Canadian affiliate where he reorganized the
company, revitalized revenues from marketed products and launched
several new products leading to an overall increase in sales of
eighty-two percent. Corporate management, impressed with his accomplishments,
invited him to rejoin the US organization in order to design and
execute a new business model. As Vice President of Business Operations
for the Southern Operation he successfully executed this model
and launched several new products propelling him to Vice President
of US Marketing. He again was responsible for reorganizing and
building a first class organization. He hired sixty new marketing
professionals, established several new departments ranging from
direct to consumer advertising to new product planning and development.
Successfully increasing sales twenty percent annually led him
to Vice President Business Operations. In this position, he was
responsible for ten business units covering one-half of the United
States. As a member of the Business Operating Group he was responsible
for the day to day operation of the US Pharmaceutical Business.
He also served on the Business Strategic Forum, Strategic Alignment
Steering Committee, Business Planning Process Committee, the Smith
Kline Beecham/Roche Steering Committee, Transformation 2000 Task
Force as well as numerous senior level decision making boards
and committees until his departure in 2001 when he established
Pharma Consultants.
His background and knowledge in the healthcare industry can help
