Nanofilm
Technologie GmbH - The Company
Nanofilm develops, manufactures and distributes instruments and
accessories for optical surface analysis. A highly-qualified team
and strong cooperation with our partners enable market-driven
developments of the highest technical standard.
Due to a modular product design, Nanofilm is able to offer custom-designed
solutions and services perfectly suited to the application.
Nanofilm Technologie GmbH was founded in 1991 as a spin-off company
of the Max-Planck-Institute of biophysical chemistry in Goettingen.
The first commercially available product was a Brewster Angle
Microscope (BAM) for the analysis of ultra-thin films on liquids.
Over the years, the product line of innovative surface inspection
and analysis systems has expanded. In 1997, the first commercial
imaging Ellipsometer “I-Elli 2000” was introduced.
In this year, Nanofilm received the “Award for Innovation”
featured by the SPD.
Nanofilm focuses on applications where functionalised and microstructured
surfaces have to be analyzed precisely. Therefore, our main business
segments are materials research, biotechnology and organic films.
The roots of Nanofilm are in the field of materials research,
where we soon got a good reputation as a supplier of precise analysis
systems.
During this time, the high value for biotechnology, especially
the field of microarrays and biochips could be seen.
In 2002 the newest generation of our Imaging Ellipsometer EP³
was introduced. This system fulfils our highest requirements for
modularity, technology and easy handling.
Since 2000 Nanofilm has run a daughter company called Accurion
for the US and North America market.
