At FARMOVS-PAREXEL we have ready access to a database containing
over 6,700 volunteers and patients from various population groups.
Building up a trial population usually only takes a few days,
and as the Unit is located on the campus of the Medical School
of the Free State University, volunteer recruiting can also be
done among the students. Apart from healthy volunteer populations,
we also are or have been working with patients with the following

Specialized Additional Services
FARMOVS-PAREXEL comprises a large number of services beyond pharmacological
trial conduct. We offer a highly trained Project Management division
that is dedicated to provide all services that relate to trial
organization, data compilation and, above all, close contact with
our clients. SMO services also forms part of the 1-STOP service
on offer.
We offer a complete range of biometrics services for trials of
all phases and types, including data management, biostatistical
data compilations and analyses, medical writing and biostatistical
reports, generating headline analysis results on bioavailability
data within 24 hours of receipt. Also included are PK/PD modelling,
glucose clamp and pH-metric analyses.
Our Quality Assurance division is responsible for staff training,
and also oversees and co-ordinates the accordance to SOPs and
regularly performs audits to ensure optimal quality in our work,
from the time of protocol compilation to archiving.
A Dispensing Unit handles the storing, importing and distribution
of the drugs that are to be tested, incorporating the use of a
laminar flow cabinet.
Highly Competitive Bio-analytical Laboratory
FARMOVS-PAREXEL includes a high-class bioanalytical laboratory
employing a team of highly committed and experienced specialists
to analyse drugs and biological matrices. More than 260 methods
have been developed, validated and implemented in accordance to
GLP standards.

An immuno-chemistry and dedicated safety laboratory (clinical
chemistry, hematology and drugs of abuse) forms part of the all-inclusive

Unique Equipment
Our outstanding equipment enables us to conduct various very
specialized types of trials. Among our hardware are a 6-bed gluclose
clamp unit, a plethysmographic unit, a pulmonary laboratory and
cardiac surveillance facilities which include the possibility
for QTc analysis. |
