Edwards - About Us
BOC Edwards has been supplying pharmaceutical freeze dryers for
almost 50 years. Since 1986, BOC Edwards has designed and manufactured
freeze dryers for pilot and industrial applications at its facility
in Tonawanda, located near Niagara Falls in New York state, USA.
In 1994, the product portfolio was expanded when the BOC Group
acquired Calumatic BV, a manufacturer of pharmaceutical filling
systems based in Dongen in the Netherlands. This provided BOC
Edwards with a European manufacturing base and access to innovative
filling systems technology, which, over the next few years, was
developed into a comprehensive product program. At the same time,
the emerging technology of automated loading systems for freeze
dryers was refined and established as a product of the Dongen
site.
The two businesses have now been fully integrated, so much so
that a single management team, based internationally, is responsible
for defining strategy and steering the business on a day-to-day
basis.
