Arkitek Studios – Products & Services

Arkitek Studios is a visual design firm specializing in content development for the science, technology and education communities, with occasional ventures into the entertainment industry. Our core capability is high-end innovative 3D digital animation that illustrates some of the great mysteries of the human condition by translating the rarified language of science and technology into dynamic, enlightening visualizations that help companies reach their target audience. To further service its customers and to maintain continuity, ASI also provides graphic design, web development and sound design, as well as interactive content and installations.

From initial discussions to completed product, we provide a time-tested approach to the creative process. Clients log on to their own discreet password protected ftp site or website to review updates, download and upload files and comment on progress. Conference calls can be arranged at the client's convenience for discussions.

The tools of choice for 3D are Avid SoftImage and Discreet Max, both industry standards, together with Mental Ray and Final Render rendering packages to create imagery that literally leaps off the screen. All digital content is rendered at D1 quality suitable for broadcast, and can be rendered at HD quality if requested. We can ouput your digital movies at any resolution or image size, and in any format you require.

We build interactive CD-ROM and DVD environments utilzing the latest technologies to create distinctive, easy-to-use yet deep information platforms for your content. We outsource to several of the larger West Coast duplication/replication companies to provide 1 or 500,000+ copies, drop-shipped to one or many destinations.

In addition to our visual content development facility, we also have a fully equipped production sound studio, where our sound designers produce compelling scores as well as voiceover to accompany the visuals. We marry these components together using composite systems like Adobe AfterEffects and Discreet Pant* to achieve a unified, coherent product unique to you. History
In business since 1997, Arkitek Studios is located in Seattle Washington, and is rapidly becoming the West Coast source for descriptive digital science and technology animation, and other digital content.

Past and present clientele in the sciences include Nature Magazine, Sonus Pharmaceuticals, Large Scale Biology Corporation, Biosite Diagnostics, and Celera. High-tech clients include Microsoft, AT&T, Intel, Sierra Online, Nissan, Sony, Discovery Kid's Channel, Hewlett Packard and Real Networks.

The Principals
Beth Anderson
As Co-founder and CEO since 1997, Beth's vision was to establish a unique, creative shop that provides innovative visual content for clients in the science and technology fields. Her unconventional path to realizing this has been the catalyst for her innovative work in 3D illustration and animation.

Her career in computer graphics began with building scientific equipment, including work at Large Scale Biology Corp on the development of a production centrifugal oligonucleiotide synthesizer (PCOS), a rapid cloning system for high through-put detection of novel antibiotics (ClonePick), and systems for high resolution two-dimensional electrophoresis (Iso-DALT), doing project management, computerized instrument design and assembly. Ms. Anderson provides the core concept and scientific visualization for clients' projects and oversees the daily management of Arkitek Studios.

Doug Huff
As Co-founder and Creative Director, Doug helped Beth Anderson create Arkitek Studios in 1997. In late 1998 Mr. Huff joined Arkitek Studios full time as its Creative Director. Doug holds an advanced degree in television production and draws on a 20+year career as a versatile creative with focused experience in the media arts. He brings a wealth of expertise in the fields of programming, production, motion control, directing and computer graphic animation.

His 10 years at Pinnacle Productions of Seattle, Washington produced a Monitor award for ABC Monday Night Football, and other award-winning projects that included the NBC Nightly News and CBS Sports. From Pinnacle, Doug went on to become lead animator at Raster Ranch Ltd. in Seattle, producing imagery for Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, King TV, Disney Epcot Center, Bill Nye the Science Guy and more.

At Arkitek Studios, Doug is the lead animator, creating content while skillfully managing production for all projects and mediums including sound composition. Mr. Huff assures deliverables are unsurpassed in content and quality.
